Valakai poriyal recipes is a south indian style made easy recipe and
main ingredients such as valakai, chopped onion, turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt and grated coconut. Taste with rasam or
sambar. Valakai many benefits such as vitamins, minerals,rich in fiber,good for heart, high
in antioxidants.
Few instruction which helpful for beginners. Raw bananas to be
unripe peel them lightly and cut them into small
pieces put into bowl of water to avoid darken akept aside. Raw bananas need

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons of gingelly oil
- ¼ tsp of mustard seeds
- ¼ tsp of gram dhal
- ¼ tsp of urad dal
- 2springs of curry leaves
- 1 large onion finely chopped
- 1cup of valakai or raw bananas [ 2 large sized]
- Salt as per required
- ½ tsp of turmeric powder
- 1tsp of chilli powder.
- 3tablesppons of grated coconut
- Water 1/4 cup or as per required.
Instruction
1. Heat a pan add 2 tablespoons of gingelly oil until oil gets
hot after add ¼ tsp of mustard seeds, ¼ tsp of urad dal, ¼ tsp of gram dal
untill gets splutter and add curry leaves to it.
2. Add finely chopped onion fry till gets golden brown colour.
3. Then add valakai pieces mix well in it and turns
to medium flame.
4. add 1/2 tsp of tumeric powder and 1tsp of chilli powder mix well to it.
5. add 1/2 cup of water approximately 150ml and Add 1/2 pinch of salt as per required.mix well in it.
6. Once mix well then add grated coconut in it.
7. Cover the pan with lid and let the valakai cook on a low to
medium low flame.
8. Inbetween do check and stir. If water dries up the valakai poriyal should soften and get cooked completely. still cook untill that all the water evaporates. Turn off the flame valakai
poriyal is ready.
9. Serve the valakai poriyal
hot or warm as a sidedish with sambar, rice or even dal rice.
