South Indian Tamilnadu style potato poriyal fry recipe. Spicy dish perfect combination for sambar,lemon rice or curd rice.

Ingredients: [ serves for 4 people]

  •       7medium size boiled potatoes
  •       4 tablespoon oil
  •       ¼ teaspoon mustard seed
  •       ½ teaspoon urad dal
  •       ½ teaspoon gram dal
  •       2teaspoon chilli powder
  •       2 springs curry leaves
  •       5 cloves garlic paste
  •       1 large chopped onion
  •       ½ tomato
  •       Few Grated coconut [optional]
  •       1teaspoon salt
  •       1 teaspoon turmeric powder

Instructions:


 Heat oil in a pan until gets hot. Add mustard seeds,urad dal,gram dal, garlic paste and curry leaves.


  Let the mustard seeds splutter. Add finely chopped onion and tomato fry till soft and translucent. 



  
 Add chilli powder, turmeric powder,salt  till raw smell goes out and add boiled potatoes . 


 Add grated coconut and Stir well to combine . cover the pan with a lid and simmer for 10mins for low flame.
Keep tossing every couple of minutes. The potatoes should be nicely roasted and brown. 


   Remove off the heat and serve with lemon rice, curd rice, sambar, rasam.
