 Drumstick kolambu  traditional recipes with healthy benefits. drumstick are rich in calcium, developing stronger bones,regulates blood sugar levels and for digestion. there are two ways such as puli kulambu and poriyal kulambu from 2 ways difference is that adding tamarind to it. here poriyal kulambu or drumstick kulambu with step by step pictures. By the way of Kulambu recipes gets different from the everyone. cuisine made of  south indian style. In south indian style made with grounded coconut with spicy masala to be added and serve with steamed rice and idli dosa.

Ingredients:

For gravy paste:

  • 1 cup of grated coconut
  • 4 red chilli
  • 1tsp of cumin seeds

For gravy:
  • ¼ tsp mustard seeds
  • ½ tsp gram dal
  • ½tsp  urad dal
  • 4tsp of oil
  • 15 small onion chopped
  • small sized Tomato - 4
  • 2 springs of curry leaves
  • Salt as per required
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp of chili powder
  • 1 tsp of coriander powder 
  • 3 drumstick chopped 
  • gravy paste as mentioned above

Instructions:

For gravy paste preparations:

1. take a blender or mixer add grated coocnut and 4 red chilli  and 1 tsp of cumin seeds. add some water and grind as fine paste.


 drumstick kulambu:

1. Take a kadai heat it add  4tsp of oil and sauté ¼ tsp of mustard seeds, ½ tsp of gram dhal, ½ tsp of urad dhal.

 2. Add 2 red chilli and 15 small chopped onion and saute well.

 

3. Further add 2springs of curry leaves and  4 tomato sauté until soft and mushy.


4. Saute for 5minutes add ½ tsp of turmeric powder, 1 tsp of chilli powder, 1 tsp of coriander powder, salt as per required.




 5. stir well for 5minutes.


6. Add drumstick vegetable to it and mix well.

 7. add gravy paste and mix well in it.


8. Add ½ cup of water  mix well in it. Note Adjust the water consistency as per gravy contained in it . 
 Cover the kadai with lid for 10minutes or vegetable till gets boiled.


9. now drumstick kulambu gets ready.


10. drumstick kulambu serve hot with steamed rice, idli and dosa.
