arisi paruppu sadam recipe is one pot meal which is easy to finish and prepare lunch quickly serve with potato fry, pappad, raita. It is kongunadu style arisi paruppu sadham with simple ingredients as arisi, paruppu, sliced large onion, tomato, garlic and spicy masala.

ingredients: 1cup = 250ml
arisi- 500gm
paruppu-150gm
sliced large onions- 2
chopped tomato -2
chopped garlic- 4 to 5
tumeric powder- 1teaspoons
chilli powder - 1 teaspoons
garam masala - 1 teaspoons
salt as per required
water - 1300ml
cumin seeds - 1teaspoons
cloves -1
cinnamon -1
red chilli -2
ghee - 2 teaspoons
oil- 4teaspoons
preparations:
wash rice and dal soaked for 30minutes. chopped onion as sliced large piece, tomato as small piece, chopped garlic.
methods:
1. heat a pressure cooker add ghee and oil untill gets hot. after add 1tsp of cumin seeds, 1 cloves, 1 cinnamon, add 2 red chilli into piece.
2. add sliced large onion untill gets golden brown colour.
3. add garlic and tomato untill gets mashed.
4. add 1tsp of tumeric powder, 1tsp of chilli powder, 1 tsp of garam masala, add salt as per required.
5. add soaked dal and rice into the mixture.
6. add water as the ratio of 1:2 [1cup of rice to add 2 cup of water] and for dal also 1:2 ratio so add 1300ml of water.
7. once the mixture gets boiled close the lid allow it for 1 whistle and turn off the flame.
8. once pressure gets released open the lid and mix the rice well from the bottom to top.
9. now arisi paruppu sadham recipes get ready.serve hot with pappad, potato fry and raita.
