senai kelagu fry | yam roast fry in tamilnadu style

Yam roast fry is south Asian countries  cuisine here prepare like tamilnadu style recipes. Yam fry used in variety of dishes like varuval, kootu, chutney and cutlets. Yam contains  many health benefits such as rich in high fiber, vitamin b6, potassium, having good cholesterol levels in the blood, curing of piles, constipation and good for diabetes people. here learn senai kelangu varuval with step by step pictures.

Ingredients:

  • Senai kelangu 250gms
  • 1 large onion finely chopped
  • 1tsp of mustard seeds
  • ½ tsp of urad dal
  • ½ tsp of gram dal
  • 2springs of curry leaves
  • 1tsp of turmeric powder
  • 1tsp of chilli powder
  • Salt as per required
  • Oil 
  • buttermilk

instructions:
first cut the yam into small sliced pieces and wash with water. then add buttermilk to the yam add little bit of salt soak this mixture for 15min it helpful to avoid itching in the tongue after having a yam fry.


drain the water mixture and separate the yam and transfter into bowl.

then take a kadai heats up add oil into the kadai for frying the yam. add littlebit of yam and fry it till mild golden brown colour. 


take a pan add 2tsp of oil then add  1tsp of mustard seeds, 1/2 tsp of urad dal, 1/2 tsp of gram dal

add 2springs of curry leaves and add finely chopped onion saute in it.


then add fried yam  into the mixture mix well in it.add 1tsp of tumeric powder, add 1tsp of chilli powder, add littlebit of salt as per required.


cook for 5min and saute it well. after turn off the flame and now yam fry get ready.


 

 

serve yam fry hot with rice, tomato rice, lemon rice, coconut rice.
