cabbage poriyal is a south indian style vegan simple ingredients and easy recipe to cook. ingredients such as cabbage, coconut, onion and red chilli. cabbage will be a good combination with sambar and rasam. cabbage poriyal with step by step pictures.
Ingredients:
- 2 tsp of oil
- 1/2 tsp of mustard seeds
- 1/4 tsp of urad dal
- 1/4 tsp of gram dal
- 1 large onion finely chopped
- 2 red chilli sliced into pieces
- cabbage finely chopped
- gram dal 100gm
- 1tsp of tumeric powder.
- salt as per required.
- water 1/4 cup [ 250ml]
- grated coconut 1/2 cup
preparations:
1. first remove the top layer of cabbage and wash with water after cut the cabbage into small pieces and kept aside.
2. soak the gram dal for 20mins and boil it separately untill gets soft kept aside.
3. one large onion to be chopped into small pieces.
4. grated the fresh coconut and kept aside.
Instructions:
1. heat a kadai and add 2tsp of oil after add 1/2 tsp of mustard seeds, 1/4 tsp of urad dal, 1/4 tsp of gram dal gets untill splutter and golden brown colour.
2. add sliced piece of red chilli
3. add finely chopped onion and fry well till gets saute.
4. add 1tsp of tumeric powder.
5. add cabbage and mix well in it.
6. add salt as per required. add 1/2 cup of water mix well.
7. add boiled gram and mix well in it.
8. add grated coconut and mix well in it.
9. once water gets dried the cabbage poriyal gets ready.
10. cabbage poriyal serve with sambar and rasam.
