 Idli podi recipe | how to make idli podi recipe

      Idli podi is a south indian style flavourable recipe which used sidedish for idli or dosa which have no time to prepare chutney or sambar. podi refers as powder.

 spicy which used as urad dal, gram dal, roasted gram, dry red chilli, curry leaves. some other ingredients might add as garlic, cumin, seaseme seeds. other name for idli podi as milagi podi, idli kara podi etc.

Urad dal and gram dal can be used as in equal qualities and nutrition to body. red chilli used for spicy. For healthy add curry leaves which gives good texture to idli podi.

idli podi can keep for a months fresher and store in a dry  airtight container. note: using spoon as moist free.

 Ingredients 

  • urad dal-150gm

  • gram dal-150gm

  • roasted gram-100 gm

  • dry red chilli-17

  • curry leaves-3springs

  • oil - 1tsp for each fried

  • salt as per required

instruction: [1cup- 150gm]

note:  take urad dal and gram dal as in equal ratio 

1. Heat a kadai add 1tsp of oil and add gram dal and fried till gets light golden brown colour and transfer to the plate as without moist free.






 2. then same pan add 1tsp of oil and add urad dal fried till gets golden brown and transfer to the plate without moist free.






  3. then same pan add 1tsp of oil and add roasted gram dal fried till gets golden brown and transfer to the plate without moist free. note : it gets golden brown with a min.




4. same pan add curry leaves fried till gets roasted.
 


5. add dry red chilli and salt as per required and roasted well till red chilli turns black colour.



 






6. transfer all ingredients in the mixer or grinder make as in powder consistency. once gets powder keep in a plate open air for 5minutes after store in a air tight dry container.







7. now idli podi gets ready.  serve with idli or dosa or rava dosa.
