TOMATO GRAVY | SIDEDISH FOR IDLI,DOSA | THAKALI KULAMBU | TAMILNADU STYLE TOMATO GRAVY | SPICY TOMATO GRAVY
Tamilnadu style tomato gravy in tamil named as thakali kolambu. Very tasty and spicy gravy best combination for idli, dosa.everyone needs to try this recipe.

Ingredients [ serve for 6 people]
For gravy:
3teaspoons of oil
¼ mustard seeds
½ teaspoon urad dhal
½ teaspoon gram dhal
2 red chilli
3springs of curry leaves
20 piece of Small onion
10 piece of chopped tomato
2teaspoons of chilli powder
½ teaspoons of
turmeric powder
Salt as per required
For gravy paste :
1 full medium sized coconut
4piece of red chilli
½ teaspoons of anise seeds
3piece of clove
2piece of cinnamom
7piece of garlic
Instruction:
For gravy paste first add ½ teaspoons of anise seeds, 3piece of clove,2 piece of cinamom,7piece of garlic , 4piece of red chilli and 1 medium size coconut as grated.
Add some water Grind well in mixer as nice paste. Add water for nice consistency and now transfer paste to bowl.
For gravy preparation:
Heat a bowl add 3tablespoons of oil gets heated and add
mustard seeds, urad dhal , gram dhal , red chilli, curry leaves,chopped small
onion mix well till get soft and saute
.
once gets sauté add all the tomato till gets fully mashed as soft .
after add grind gravy paste mix well in it. Add water for gravy consistency as much as needed. Don’t add too much of water.
Add chillipowder,turmeric powder, salt as per required check with the taste.
stir well to combine.

Close pan with the lid for 5min till raw smell goes out. Mix well every couple of minutes to Check if it becomes
thick consistency then turn off the flame transfer to serving bowl .serve with
idli, dosa very tasty dish for breakfast and
feel fulfilled.
