How to make chapatti | soft chapatti | easy roti or chapatti | chapatti dough


 Indian style chapatti is a bread made of whole wheat flour. Different types of chapatti variety have like stuffed chapatti like potato, vegetable etc. main ingredients need are wheat flour, salt, water. To avoid stickiness pour water as per required while making a dough. Most important part of the meal of every North Indian household. Roti or chapatti is that is high on nutrition. While adding  ghee for richness while kneading the dough and pinch of salt gives nice aroma and taste to chapatti. Wheat flour used for paratha, Pori, naan need oil but chapatti no need oil much to prepare.  Chapatti can be paired with panner, chicken kurma, chicken curry and potato gravy.

Cook time: 30mins

Total time: 50 mins

Servings: 6 to 7 [35 roti or chapatti]

Ingredients


  • 1kg of wheat flour
  • Water 500ml
  • Ghee 2tsp
  • Salt as per required.
  • Sugar 1tsp
  • Add milk for softness its optional

Instructions

1. Take a large bowl add 500ml of water, salt, ghee, oil, sugar and boiled milk.



2. Add wheat flour mix well and start kneading dough. Make sure that dough is not too thick or too thin. It has to be soft and pliable consistency. Add Water to be right consistency. Keep kneading for a while.



3. Now roll out few balls from the prepared dough. Place them on flat surfaces; flatten them further with the help of a rolling pin. Keep using the flour in order to prevent the rolls from sticking to the surface. 

4. Once chapatti gets round shape then place a pan on stove at medium flame.

5. Once heated enough, put the chapatti on the pan and cook from both sides. Use a pair of tongs to flip over to the other side. Check for the little brown spots once start appearing it, the chapatti will start to puff indicating that it’s completely cooked. 


6. Now chapatti gets ready serve with gravy or cuury of your choice. Main combination for chapatti or roti as potato gravy, coconut chutney,mutton curry . Already post mutton curry or lamb curry in pressure cooker. check here mutton curry or gravy and poori masala curry
